Run a Reading Exception Report

Examine the Reading Exception Reports during each reading cycle. Use this report to investigate meters that have electronic alarms, meter reader comments, or high or low usage flags.

An exceptional meter reading is a reading that is out of the ordinary. Examples include readings that:

  • Include an alert like “leak” or “tamper”
  • Are outside the high/low limits provided by your billing system

  • Have unique comments from field technicians

To create a Reading Exception Report:

  1. Select the Meters tab.

  2. Navigate to Meter Reports > Reading Exception Reports. The report selection criteria displays.

  3. Enter search criteria. Search criteria can be used to:
    • Narrow results to a specific reading device or sort data
    • Include or exclude types of meters (moved, scrapped, etc.)
    • View high readings, low readings, or both
    • Read location notes (about where a meter is located on a property)
    • Run specific reports on electronic alarms, high/low readings, or meter reader comments using the Reading Report Format list
    • Use a previous read for an imported billing file rather than the last read (select Use Previous Imported Billing Read). This ensures that the report shows proper usage according to billing.
  4. Select the Search button. The report displays. The report can be viewed, downloaded, and printed using the controls:
